In the local language of Dhivehi, the name “Rania” comes from the word “Rani” meaning “Queen” and the Island is truly worthy of the title. We have some of the best areas for big game fishing in the waters surrounding the island and often amongst the regular catch here are Grouper, Wahoo, Jack Fish, Barracuda and the occasional huge Sailfish.
Local Island Explorations
From a guided walk around to watching master artisans at work, local island explorations offer our guests an intriguing glimpse of the local culture. This is also an opportunity to do some local souvenir shopping for local Maldivian arts and crafts by using your bartering skills.
The Private Picnic Experience
Spend an afternoon at your private sand bank with a gourmet picnic lunch. Laze under a palm tree, snorkel in the beautiful coral gardens, swim in the warm tropical waters or just relax on the white sandy beaches and soak up the sun.
Sunset Cruising or Moonlight
From yellow to pink to the deepest orangey red – watch the setting sun sink into the cool waters of the Indian Ocean releasing day into night and lighting the sparkling diamonds overhead.
Sunrise Fishing
Wake up before the sun and set sail on board a traditional fishing boat (‘Dhoni’) to catch all that the Maldives has to offer. Chef will prepare a light breakfast for you to have on board and set sail with the experts just as they have done in the Maldives for generations. Take a few minutes to enjoy the sunrise as she pulls herself from sleep and lights the sky to help you with your catch.
Sunset Fishing
In the cool of the afternoon set sail on the ‘Dhoni’ for some Maldivian line fishing and perhaps even some local singing to help with the catch. Your Captain and crew will take you to the best fishing spots in the Atoll and help you catch your dinner!
Snorkeling
Experience the wonders of your personal aquarium just by dipping your toes into the water, or fully submerge to find beautiful coral gardens where tiny tropical fish play hide and seek and if you are lucky perhaps even turtles, eagle rays or dolphins. These trips are tailored to suit everyone, morning or afternoon, beginners or certified, as long as you are a swimmer and a fish lover.
How many persons can the island accommodate?
The island can accommodate from a minimum of 2 persons up to 12 guests maximum. It is booked for one group at a time.
Is there a minimum number of night's stay?
The minimum requirement is 3 nights' stay.
How many rooms does The Rania Experience have?
The island has One Rania suite composed of one Master bedroom and 2 guest rooms and in the east side of the island fronting the beach, there are 3 beach villas. All rooms have king-size bed.
When is the yacht available?
The RANIA yacht, a majesty 86-foot Gulf Craft luxury speed cruiser is at the guest's disposal daily for 3 hours and any additional hour rental is at a minimal rental fee of US$ 2,000 per hour.
