British Airways to fly to Maldives
Civil Aviation Minister Mahmoud Razi has said British Airways (BA) will begin flights to Maldives next week, Miadhu reports.
Speaking at a ceremony to sign MoUs (Memorandums of Understanding) for joint air services between Maldives and the UK, Razi said BA will be designated as the authorised carrier between the two countries.
“One objective is to strengthen the aviation relations between two countries and to encourage more flights between UK and Maldives. British Airways would start operations during the last week of October but as you know it is not a good time economically and financially. This may result in the arrival of other airlines as well,” he said.
